Drawing on our Evangelical commitment to biblical authority;
sharing in a worldwide Evangelical faith centred on the Lausanne
Covenant; learning from the life and witness of a global Evangelical
family; we hold the following truths to be the basis of our
ministry:
1
We believe in one God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and affirm
his sovereignty and grace in all areas of creation, preservation,
revelation, redemption and final judgement;
2
We rejoice that God has made himself known to us through his
Son the Lord Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary, and we
acknowledge him to be fully God and fully human;
3
We stand firm on the divine inspiration and entire trustworthiness
of the Holy Scriptures, and rejoice that God has given them
to his people to be their supreme authority and guide in all
areas of faith and conduct;
4
We acknowledge that humanity is made in the image of God,
and that image, although marred by the fall, has not been
destroyed. We believe that all people are essentially and
universally sinful and stand under the judgement of a holy
God;
5
We praise God for his grace in sending his only Son to be
our Saviour. We rejoice that through his death on the cross
our sins are forgiven, we are received into God's family and
embrace one another as brothers and sisters in Christ;
6
We affirm that God raised Jesus from the dead, destroying
death and conquering Satan, and exalted him to his right hand
where he reigns as Lord over the whole universe;
7
We praise God for the gift of his Holy Spirit who convicts
the world of sin, makes us a new creation in Christ, restores
us in the image of God and continues the ministry of the risen
Christ through his body the Church;
8
We believe that through the proclamation of the Good News
of Christ, we are called to turn away from our sins and in
faith embrace Christ as Lord and Saviour. Living under the
reign of Christ calls us to a life of unconditional love for
all people, transparent holiness, concern for justice and
a life of sacrificial service;
9
We confirm that God's purpose involves the redemption of individuals
and the building of an international community, his Church,
to which all sincere believers in Jesus Christ belong. We
acknowledge the inseparable bond between Christ and his Church.
He is its only head and it is his body. From this bond flows
its unity, its holiness, its universality and its commitment
to the apostolic message and mission;
10
As priests serving within God's spiritual temple, we are called
to offer to God the worship he alone deserves and to take
upon our hearts in intercession the lostness and pain of our
world;
11
We affirm that it is impossible to share fully in the life
of God without participating in his mission to the world.
Therefore we take up the challenge to make Christ known as
we witness to the love of God in word and deed;
12
We confidently await the glorious appearance of our Lord Jesus
Christ as triumphant king, universal judge and the centre
of his people's eternal joy and worship. We look forward to
the subsequent resurrection of our bodies and the regeneration
of creation at Christ's return. Until this time we joyfully
pledge ourselves to his service.
